Ayuzawa Misaki
In the beginning, Takumi takes a general interest in the student council president because she was different from the rest. After seeing Misaki genuinely smile towards a group of girls, Takumi becomes enamoured with the Misaki. Much to her dislike, he shows up at her work place and "stresses her out", but Takumi is only worried about her and looking out for her. Later on, we see more scenes that portray his feelings towards Misaki (i.e. at the end of the second chapter after the school festival). Although Misaki can't help but acknowledge his helpfulness and impeccable timing when she's endanger, she sees him as a rival and an unscratchable itch.
"If I said it was because I'm worried about you, you'd get mad."
Takumi announces his love for her after she expresses her worries that she'd disappoint the Ayuzawa Club if they knew about secret life. Takumi tells her he'd never be disappointed regardless of what she does and shows her the photo of the two when Misaki's dressed as a maid. The photo gets blown off the rooftop and Takumi attempts to get the photo back using the quickest route. Just before he steals a kiss from the distraught student council president and jumps off the roof, Takumi confesses to Misaki.
"You ask me 'why'? That's because...I...like you, Ayuzawa."
Misaki becomes increasingly aware of Takumi's feelings (despite Takumi posing as a "kissing monster" to relieve Misaki's distress over their kiss) while Takumi constantly reminds her that she's a girl. He shows up whenever she needs him and proves to be more than just an irritable bug to the president. Misaki is slowly becoming enamoured with Takumi, but she tells him, "To be teased by Usui, I hate that the most!" With an enemy trying to lure Misaki away from Seiki High School, what will become of the two?
